The Hell Ride Melbourne

It was a cold winter’s morning in Melbourne we pulled a team together to meet up with the Hell Ride bunch down Beach Road. It was a medium turn-out, mostly consisting of riders from the NRS racing scene and local racing scenes which is good news; it means that we had a group of good riders.

Next, we set up the Gopro’sand camera gear ready. The ride sets off promptly at 7am.

Not long into the rider, we realise that it may have been worthwhile to bring our speed lights, given the sheer lack of light. However, with this style of photography, the fewer distractions and things that can fly off the better. That’s been our experience anyway.

As the sun rose and the light got brighter, more and more riders began appearing, which was awesome to see on such a cold morning. As we crested Olivers hill the riders plunged into thick fog.

Soon after there was a small break of two riders. It was the rider in the green on the Giant TCR and then David Williams from Inform TMX Make (NRS team) who chased the break. Not long after about 5 riders bridged and the group split. Unfortunately, this gap was short-lived as we all re-grouped at the next intersection. Nevertheless, it was a solid effort from the crew.

On the return, the crew, rolled turns most of the way back to Black Rock. Instead of rolling with them, we noticed a familiar face and chucked a quick u-turn to meet up with a few Instagram friends.

After some quick chatter and photos of their surprised faces to see use there in support capturing photos it was back to Black Rock for a warm coffee.

Thanks to everyone that played kindly out there, we might just appear at one of your next weekend rides. So tell us where you will be.
